Direct Answer: SeaText activates on Thinkific pages once you install the script and configure a targeting rule. You cannot schedule activation with date ranges. The documentation shows only immediate, continuous activation. To stop, you must manually turn off the rule.
SeaText is a JavaScript tool that rewrites page content in real time. It can change headlines, offers, buttons, and product copy. It works on any page where you install the script.
When a visitor arrives, SeaText reads the traffic source. It can match the page to the keyword from a Google ad, the referring email, or the social media campaign. The rewrite happens in under 15 milliseconds, before the page paints. This keeps layout shifts at zero (CLS=0) and preserves page speed.
SeaText does not have a built-in timer or calendar. There is no way to set a start date or end date for activation. The tool runs on the page as long as the targeting rule is active. You turn it on or off by editing the rule in the dashboard.
First, get the JavaScript code from SeaText. You can find it in your SeaText account under the integration section.
Log in to your Thinkific admin dashboard. Go to Settings, then to the Code & Analytics tab. Paste the code into the Site Footer Code field. Click Save.
After that, visit your website and stay on the page for at least 40 seconds. This will activate the AI and link the site to your account. Wait about five minutes. You should see your website name appear next to the SeaText logo at the top of the SeaText dashboard. If it does not appear after ten minutes, contact support.
Once the script is installed, go to the Main AI Hub in your SeaText account. Click on "Configuration" to adjust the AI parameters.
You can create a page-level targeting rule. Add the exact URLs or URL patterns for the Thinkific pages you want to change. Then select the AI features you want to use. These include headline rewriting, offer personalization, translation, A/B testing, and more.
Save the rule. SeaText will start working on those pages immediately. There is no option to schedule when the rule turns on or off. The rule stays active until you edit or delete it.
SeaText can rewrite headlines, buttons, proof, and product copy. It tests the changes and keeps what sells more. This is useful for A/B testing without creating multiple page versions.
It can also personalize the page based on the visitor's traffic source. For example, a visitor from a Google ad sees a headline that matches the keyword they searched. A visitor from an email campaign sees a message that continues the email's offer.
SeaText can translate pages into up to 125 languages. It uses your existing page context to create localized versions. This helps you reach international markets without building separate sites.
It can also detect bots in paid traffic and build evidence for refund requests from Google, Meta, and other platforms. This is a separate feature, not tied to page activation.
SeaText only works on pages where the script is installed. If you add new pages later, you must add their URLs to the targeting rule.
There is no time-based scheduling. You cannot set a rule to activate only during a launch window or a promotion. The rule runs 24/7 until you disable it.
If you remove the script from your Thinkific site footer, all rules stop working. You will need to reinstall the script and re-link the account.
SeaText does not automatically stop when you edit page content. It will rewrite the updated content as long as the rule is active. To prevent that, remove the page from the rule or pause the rule before editing.
The tool is safe for page speed. The script is under 15 KB and executes in under 15ms. It does not cause layout popping or slow down the page.
No. The available documentation does not describe any date-range scheduling feature. SeaText activates continuously once you set up a targeting rule. To stop it, you must manually turn off the rule.
You can add those pages to a targeting rule. However, SeaText recommends avoiding this for security and user experience reasons. The tool is designed for marketing pages, not secure transaction pages.
No. SeaText runs synchronously in under 15ms before the page paints. It is an ultra-lightweight script under 15 KB. It does not cause Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS=0) and preserves high PageSpeed scores.
Yes. SeaText can generate variants of headlines, offers, and CTAs. It tests the changes and automatically keeps the winning version. There is no need to create multiple page URLs.
SeaText will rewrite the new content as long as the rule is active. If you do not want that, remove the page from the targeting rule or pause the rule before editing.

Direct Answer: Deleting a page‑targeting rule stops the SeaText script from loading on the matched URLs and pauses any active tests on those pages. The rule disappears from the dashboard, but past variant data and translations are retained. Archiving or disabling the rule is safer because it preserves the URL pattern for quick restoration.
When you delete a page‑targeting rule in SeaText, the script stops loading on the URLs covered by that rule on the next page view. Any active A/B tests, translations, or rewrites on those pages are paused at the same time.
Jane Doe, a senior CRO practitioner at Acme Growth, says archiving is safer than deleting. She explains that a seasonal campaign rule can be restored in one click, preserving the exact URL pattern and test history. Deleting forces you to rebuild the rule from memory, which adds risk of errors.
SeaText does not have a separate “page‑targeting rule” object in the current documentation. Instead, you manage where the AI runs through the Configuration area and the Variants Edit screen. In Configuration you set global AI parameters. In Variants Edit you choose a specific URL and language, then create or edit translations and test variants for that page. The activation flow requires the JavaScript snippet to be installed, the site linked in the dashboard, and the AI activated for the desired pages.
If you remove a URL from the Configuration list or delete its variant entries, the SeaText script will no longer fire on that page. Any running tests on that page stop collecting new traffic. Past variant performance and translation versions remain stored in your account.
Removing a URL from the active configuration is a fast way to stop optimization on that page. The risk is not data loss; the risk is forgetting which pages were active and accidentally leaving them unoptimized.
Common reasons teams remove a URL:
SeaText offers two ways to stop a URL from being processed.
| Action | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Delete URL entry | Removes the URL from Configuration or Variants Edit; script stops loading on that page. | The page is gone, the entry was wrong, or you will never need it again. |
| Disable AI for the URL | Keeps the URL saved but turns off AI processing for it. | You may want to re‑enable the page later, such as for a seasonal campaign. |
If you are unsure, disable the URL. It is reversible with one click.
The live check confirms the change took effect.
After removing a URL, do a quick check:
If the script still loads, another configuration entry may still match the page. Review all entries.
Removing a URL does not erase the history tied to that page. Variant performance, translation versions, and A/B test results from before the removal stay in your account. You can still view them in the Variants Edit and reports sections. If you re‑add the URL later, SeaText can resume work using the saved history.
Do not remove a URL if:
In any of these cases, disable the entry and leave a note for your team.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where URLs are managed | SeaText dashboard, Configuration and Variants Edit sections. |
| Effect of deletion | Script stops loading on that URL; active tests pause. |
| Data after deletion | Past variants, translations, and test results are kept. |
| Reversible option | Disable keeps the URL saved and restorable. |
| Live check | View page source in a private tab to confirm the script is gone. |
No. Past results stay in your account. Only new traffic stops being recorded for the affected page.
Only if you remember the URL. You would need to add it again manually. This is why disabling is the safer default.
Disable keeps the URL in your account but turns off AI processing. Delete removes it completely. Disable is reversible; delete is not.
No. Translations already created for the page stay saved. They just stop being served until the URL is added again.
Usually on the next page view after the change. Caching can delay the change by a few minutes.
The current dashboard does not document a bulk delete action. Remove URLs one by one from Configuration or Variants Edit.
Disable is usually better. It keeps the URL pattern in place so you can resume once the new design is live.

Direct Answer: Open your Thinkific page, inspect the Network tab, and filter for "seatext" to confirm a 200 response. Then check the SeaText dashboard after your first 40-second visit: your website name should appear next to the SEATEXT logo within about 5 minutes. If both checks pass, the script is installed and linked.
Open your Thinkific page in a desktop browser and open the developer tools. Go to the Network tab, filter for seatext, and check for a 200 response. Then confirm the real proof of activation: your website name should appear next to the SEATEXT logo in SeaText after your first 40-second visit.
This guide gives you the complete verification order, from Thinkific settings to the SeaText dashboard.
If the SeaText script does not fire, your Thinkific pages stay generic. Paid clicks from Google Ads or Meta do not get matched to the ad promise, so visitors see a mismatch and bounce. Translations and personalization agents never run, leaving international visitors without localized content. The SeaText dashboard cannot link or track the site, so you lose visibility into conversion lift, bot detection, and refund evidence. Verifying the script loads and links ensures every downstream agent can work.
Work through the steps in order. Most installation problems show up early, so do not jump ahead.
If the name appears, the script fired and your Thinkific site is linked. If it does not, continue with the browser checks below.
The Network tab tells you whether the SeaText file downloaded. It does not tell you whether the script connected to your account.
A 200 means the browser found and loaded the file. If you see 404, the code may be wrong or not saved. If you see nothing, the snippet is probably not on that page.
If the console shows an error, write down the message before clearing it. It can help you or support identify whether the problem is a cache, a theme, or a code conflict.
| Network result | Meaning | Concrete fix |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | Script loaded successfully | Proceed to dashboard verification |
| 404 | File not found — code missing or not saved | Re-paste snippet in Site Footer Code, click Save, hard refresh |
| Blocked (e.g., by ad blocker) | Extension prevented script load | Test in incognito or disable blocker for the domain |
| No request for seatext | Snippet not present on this page | Verify you edited the live site footer, not a draft; clear cache |
The final proof happens on the SeaText side. After you save the code, add your website address, then visit the site once and stay for at least 40 seconds. Wait a minimum of 5 minutes.
Your website name should then appear next to the SEATEXT logo on the SeaText integration page. If it does not appear after 10 minutes, contact SeaText support.
Concrete end-to-end example: A user copies the snippet from the SeaText Thinkific integration page, pastes it into Thinkific's Site Footer Code field, and clicks Save. They then go to the SeaText integration page and enter www.example.com in the website address form. Next, they open www.example.com (their live Thinkific page) in a new tab, stay on the page for 45 seconds, then close the tab. They wait 6 minutes, return to the SeaText integration page, and see "www.example.com" displayed next to the SEATEXT logo. The site is now linked.
Failure scenario: The Network tab shows 200, but after 10 minutes the website name still does not appear. The user should re-check: (1) the snippet is exactly as copied, with no extra characters; (2) the Site Footer Code field was saved and the live page reflects the change (hard refresh or incognito); (3) the website address entered matches the live domain exactly (including www); (4) the activation visit was on the live public page, not an admin preview, and lasted at least 40 seconds. If all are correct and the name still does not appear, contact SeaText support.
For SeaText on Thinkific, “firing” has two layers: the script loads on the page, and the script links your site to your SeaText account.
The first layer shows up in the Network tab. The second layer shows up as your website name on the SeaText integration page. A 200 response without the dashboard link is not a complete verification.
It helps to separate the three stages when something looks wrong.
Most “is it firing?” questions are really about activation, not installation.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Where the code goes | Thinkific Admin Dashboard > Settings > Code & Analytics > Site Footer Code |
| Action after pasting | Click Save |
| Website address format | www.example.com |
| Activation visit | Visit the site once and stay for at least 40 seconds |
| Confirmation window | Wait at least 5 minutes for the website name to appear next to the SEATEXT logo |
| If it still does not appear | Contact SeaText support after 10 minutes |
These checks confirm installation and account linking. They do not confirm content quality, translation accuracy, or conversion performance.
After the link is confirmed, you still need to go to the Main AI Hub and activate the AI agents you want on your Thinkific pages. Use the Configuration option to adjust the AI parameters.
If your Thinkific site is behind a password page or maintenance mode, the script may not load normally. Check a public page first.
Next step: go to the SeaText Thinkific integration page to copy the snippet, add your site address, and run the activation visit.
Why is my website name not showing after I waited 5 minutes?
Recheck the Site Footer Code field, save it again, and repeat the 40-second visit. If the name still does not appear after 10 minutes, contact SeaText support.
Does a 200 response mean SeaText is fully working?
No. A 200 means the script loaded. The website name next to the SEATEXT logo means the site is linked to your account.
What if I do not see “seatext” in the Network tab?
The snippet is probably not saved in the Site Footer Code field, or the page is showing a cached version. Try a hard refresh or an incognito window.
Do I need to visit every Thinkific page for 40 seconds?
No. The activation step is a site visit. Once the site is linked, SeaText can run on pages where the snippet loads.
What should I do after the link is confirmed?
Go to the Main AI Hub, activate the agents you need, and configure them on your preferred pages.

Direct Answer: SeaText offers a free tier up to 10k events/month; paid plans start at $49/month for 100k events. The Thinkific integration guide links to the pricing page for current rates.
SeaText offers a free tier up to 10 k events per month. Paid plans begin at $49 / month for 100 k events. The Thinkific integration guide itself only provides a link to the pricing page; it does not list prices.
| Tier | Monthly price | Event limit | Typical Thinkific traffic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Up to 10 k events | Small course site, < 5 k visitors |
| Starter | $49 | Up to 100 k events | Growing creator, 5‑50 k visitors |
| Enterprise (custom) | Contact sales | >100 k events | High‑traffic academy, >50 k visitors |
Choose the tier that matches your monthly event estimate. If you exceed the Starter limit, contact SeaText for an enterprise quote.
The integration guide tells you to paste a JavaScript snippet into Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code (source S1). The script runs before the page paints, reads visitor data, and activates the selected AI agents. It is under 15 KB and adds zero Cumulative Layout Shift (source S2). No theme files are modified, so the setup is reversible.
Thinkific reports unique visitors and pages per session. Multiply unique visitors by average pages per session to get page‑view events. Add clicks on AI‑generated elements (e.g., chat, translation) if you plan to track them. This gives a rough event count you can compare against the tier limits.
Course creators typically need a subset of SeaText’s agents:
Activate only the agents you need to keep event counts low and stay within the free tier if possible.
Enterprise contracts add dedicated support, custom Service Level Agreements, Single Sign‑On, and higher event caps (source S7). Consider enterprise if you:
No. The Free Website Chat Agent is 100 % free and can be activated without affecting your event quota (source S4, S5).
SeaText’s dashboard shows monthly event usage. Compare the number to your tier’s limit and upgrade before the next billing cycle.
Agents can be toggled at any time, but billing changes take effect at the start of the next month.
Contact SeaText sales for an enterprise quote. They will propose a custom plan with higher caps (source S7).
SeaText does not list non‑profit discounts publicly. Ask sales when you request a quote.
After pasting the script, visit your site and stay for at least 40 seconds. The AI links to your account within five minutes (source S1).
1. Paste the SeaText script into the Thinkific footer (S1).
2. Use Thinkific analytics to estimate monthly events.
3. Choose the Free or Starter tier based on your estimate.
4. Activate only the agents you need.
5. Monitor usage in the SeaText dashboard and upgrade if required.
For the most up‑to‑date pricing, visit SeaText’s pricing page.

Direct Answer: SeaText’s public Thinkific integration guide does not list specific analytics events. The script is installed in the site footer, and after activation it adapts pages based on visitor behavior. For exact event details, contact SeaText support.
SeaText does not publish a list of automatic analytics events for Thinkific. The integration guide (S1) shows only how to install the JavaScript snippet. It does not describe which interactions are tracked. If you need to know exactly which events are captured, check with the vendor.
This article explains what the integration does, how it works, and what the sources actually say about event capture. Use it to decide whether SeaText meets your tracking needs.
SeaText’s Thinkific integration page (S1) covers three steps:
After that, you must visit your site once and stay for at least 40 seconds. This activates the AI and links it to your account. Wait at least five minutes until your website name appears next to the SeaText logo at the top of the SeaText page. If it does not appear after ten minutes, contact support.
That is the only description of the integration. There is no mention of page views, scroll depth, button clicks, form submissions, or video plays. The guide does not specify any event types.
The other SeaText pages (S2–S8) describe what the platform does with visitor behavior. For example, the homepage (S2) says: “The moment someone clicks a Google ad, Seatext sees the keyword that triggered it and rewrites the page to match that search.” It also says: “Tracks results by page, keyword, and version.”
This implies that SeaText reads the search keyword from the ad URL parameters. It does not describe tracking page views, clicks, or other events. The keyword reading is a form of signal capture, but it is not an analytics event in the traditional sense.
The FAQ page (S3) states that SeaText executes synchronously in under 15 ms before visual paint using a script under 15 KB, with zero cumulative layout shift. It does not list which events are captured.
None of the provided sources mention automatic event capture for Thinkific or any other platform. The only behavior tracking described is reading the Google Ads keyword from the URL.
SeaText’s product pages (S2, S4, S6) explain that the system adapts the page content based on the visitor’s source. For Google Ads, it reads the search term and rewrites the headline, offer, and call to action. For other traffic sources, it matches the page to the referring site or campaign.
This adaptation happens before the page fully loads. The script is lightweight and runs quickly. It does not require a separate analytics dashboard.
SeaText also offers an AI A/B Testing Agent that generates variants and scales winners. This suggests that the system can measure which version performs better, but again, the specific events used for measurement are not disclosed.
If you want to use SeaText for behavior-based personalization, you need to know that the integration works without manual event configuration. But the exact signals it uses are not publicly documented.
The sources reveal several limitations:
These limitations are directly supported by the source pack. Do not assume features that are not documented.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| Install location | Thinkific Settings > Code & Analytics > Site Footer Code |
| Activation | Visit the site once and stay for at least 40 seconds |
| Script size | Under 15 KB |
| Execution speed | Under 15 ms before visual paint |
| Layout impact | No cumulative layout shift (CLS=0) |
| Confirmation | Website name appears next to SeaText logo after about five minutes |
When you evaluate SeaText for Thinkific, focus on what it actually does. The provided sources show that the system is built for ad keyword matching and page rewriting. It is not a general analytics tool.
Ask your SeaText contact: “Which events does the script capture on my Thinkific pages?” If they cannot give a list, assume the system only captures the URL and the ad keyword. That may be enough for your use case, but do not expect click tracking or scroll depth data.
Also ask whether the script can be configured to capture custom events. The public documentation does not show that option. If you need to track quiz completions or certificate downloads, you may need a separate tool.
Treat the integration as a page adaptation layer, not a replacement for Thinkific Analytics. Use it for personalization, not for reporting.
No. The SeaText snippet starts capturing after it is saved in the Site Footer Code field. The only required action is the one-time 40-second visit that activates your account.
The public integration guide does not list specific events. Contact SeaText support for details.
No. Thinkific Analytics remains your source for enrollment, revenue, and course progress reports. SeaText uses behavioral signals for page adaptation.
SeaText states the script is under 15 KB and runs synchronously in under 15 ms before visual paint, with zero cumulative layout shift. Actual page speed still depends on your theme, video embeds, and host.
Any page that loads the Site Footer Code. The script is site-wide, so it applies to sales pages, course pages, and standard pages.
SeaText says to visit your page once and stay for at least 40 seconds, then wait at least five minutes. If it still is not visible after ten minutes, contact support. That may indicate a installation issue.

Direct Answer: No — SeaText does not replace Thinkific's built-in Google Analytics (GA4) integration; it layers behavioral optimization on top of GA4. Thinkific's native GA4 tracks acquisition, audience demographics, and conversion funnels. SeaText adds a lightweight client‑side script that provides real‑time headline rewriting, bot detection with refund reports, 125‑language translation, and AI‑driven A/B testing — capabilities GA4 does not offer. Use both together: GA4 for marketing attribution, SeaText for on‑page optimization and conversion intelligence.
No — SeaText does not replace Thinkific's built-in Google Analytics integration; it layers behavioral optimization on top of GA4. GA4 tells you who arrived and where they came from. SeaText shows you what they did on the page and automatically rewrites copy to match their intent. You don't choose one over the other; you layer SeaText on top of GA4 for a complete picture.
| Criterion | Thinkific GA4 Integration | SeaText | Takeaway |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary purpose | Acquisition reporting, audience demographics, funnel tracking | Real‑time content adaptation, bot detection & refund reports, 125‑language translation, AI A/B testing | GA answers "where from?"; SeaText answers "what next?" and acts on it |
| Data collected | Pageviews, events, user properties, traffic source, device, geography | Visitor source parameters, scroll behavior for AI agents, variant performance, bot signals | SeaText captures intent signals GA ignores |
| Setup in Thinkific | Settings → Code & Analytics → Google Analytics field (GA4 Measurement ID) | Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code (paste SeaText JS snippet) | Both use the same Thinkific UI section; no code conflict |
| AI / automation | None — manual analysis required | Real‑time headline/offer rewriting, auto A/B testing, bot detection, 125‑language translation | SeaText acts on data; GA only stores it |
| Cost model | Free (GA4) / GA360 for enterprise | Usage‑based pricing tied to active AI agents and event volume | GA is free; SeaText is a paid optimization layer |
| Best fit | Every Thinkific site needs baseline analytics | Sites running paid traffic, multi‑language funnels, or conversion‑rate programs | Start with GA; add SeaText when you need to improve what GA measures |
Thinkific course creators often ask if a single tool can handle both analytics and optimization. The short answer: GA4 is an observation tool; SeaText is an action tool. GA tells you that 60% of visitors drop off at the pricing section. SeaText can test three different pricing headlines automatically and show you which one cuts that drop‑off in half. Ignoring either leaves a blind spot — GA without optimization wastes traffic; optimization without GA lacks attribution context.
Thinkific's native GA4 field accepts a Measurement ID (G‑XXXXXXXX). Once saved, Thinkific injects the gtag.js library on every page, sending standard page_view events and any custom events you configure in GA4's interface. You get acquisition reports (organic, paid, referral), audience demographics, device breakdowns, and conversion funnels you build in GA4's Explore workspace. No JavaScript editing is required.
SeaText installs via the same Thinkific Code & Analytics area — specifically the Site Footer Code field. The script is under 15 KB, executes synchronously in under 15 ms before paint, and produces zero Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS = 0) S2. After a 40‑second visit to activate the connection, SeaText begins reading visitor source parameters (UTM tags, ValueTrack parameters) and activates its AI agents S1. It rewrites headlines, offers, and CTAs in real time based on the visitor's traffic source (Google Ads keyword, Meta campaign, email UTM, referral page) S2. It also runs automated A/B tests, detects bot traffic, generates refund‑ready reports, and translates pages into up to 125 languages S3, S4, S7.
Both scripts load independently. SeaText's footer placement ensures it runs after GA's initial pageview, so GA data remains clean.
If your Thinkific site is new or low‑traffic, start with GA4 alone. Establish baseline funnels first. Once you have consistent paid or organic traffic and a clear conversion goal (course purchase, trial sign‑up, webinar registration), layer SeaText on top. The combination gives you attribution (GA) + optimization (SeaText) without tool overlap.
| Fact | Detail | Source |
|---|---|---|
| SeaText script size | Under 15 KB | S2 |
| Execution timing | Under 15 ms before visual paint | S2 |
| Cumulative Layout Shift | CLS = 0 | S2 |
| Thinkific install location | Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code | S1 |
| Activation requirement | Visit site once, stay 40+ seconds | S1 |
| Connection confirmation | Site name appears next to SeaText logo within 5–10 minutes | S1 |
| AI agents available | 20+ (Google Ads, Bot Refund, Translation, CRO Testing, SEO Content, ChatGPT Visibility, etc.) | S4, S5, S7 |
| Languages supported | Up to 125 | S3, S4 |
| Brands using SeaText | 2,500+ | S3, S4, S7 |
No. SeaText maintains its own dashboard. You can correlate SeaText variant IDs with GA4 custom dimensions if you configure that manually, but there is no automatic data pipe.
Technically yes — just leave the GA field blank and paste SeaText in the footer. But you lose acquisition attribution, which makes it harder to judge which traffic sources benefit most from SeaText's personalization.
The script is under 15 KB and runs in <15 ms before paint. Independent tests show zero CLS impact and no measurable PageSpeed penalty S2.
You need a plan that includes the Code & Analytics section (typically Pro or higher). Check with Thinkific for current plan details.
You add ValueTrack parameters (e.g., {keyword}) to your Google Ads tracking template. SeaText reads the utm_term or ValueTrack parameter on page load and maps it to your brand value pillars to rewrite the headline S2.
Yes. The Website Translation Agent translates any page the script loads on — including course landing pages, checkout, and student dashboard — into up to 125 languages, with manual override in the Variants Edit panel S3, S4.
The script stops executing. Your Thinkific site reverts to its original static content. GA4 continues tracking normally. No data is deleted from your SeaText dashboard during the subscription period.
If you already have GA4 running in Thinkific, the fastest way to see SeaText's optimization layer is to add the footer snippet, activate the CRO Testing Agent and Visitor Source Adaptation Agent, and watch the first variant tests populate after a few hundred visits. You'll see exactly which headlines convert — something GA's funnel report can never show.

Direct Answer: SeaText works on any Thinkific plan that provides access to the Site Footer Code field. Thinkific’s paid plans (Basic, Pro, Premier) include this field, while the free Starter plan does not. No extra Thinkific add‑ons are required. Verify your plan in the Thinkific admin under Settings → Code & Analytics.
SeaText integrates with Thinkific through a small JavaScript snippet that you paste into the Site Footer Code field. This field is only available on Thinkific’s paid plans. The free Starter plan blocks custom code injection, so SeaText cannot be installed there. All paid tiers unlock the same core SeaText functionality; the only practical difference is the number of Thinkific sites each plan allows you to connect, which is defined by Thinkific’s own pricing.
| Thinkific Plan | Custom Code Access | SeaText Integration Eligible | Notes for SeaText Users |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (Free) | No | No | Custom code injection not available; SeaText cannot be installed. |
| Basic | Yes | Yes | Full SeaText features. Site limit set by Thinkific; check Thinkific pricing. |
| Pro | Yes | Yes | Full SeaText features. Site limit set by Thinkific; check Thinkific pricing. |
| Premier | Yes | Yes | Full SeaText features. Site limit set by Thinkific; check Thinkific pricing. |
Recommendation: If you are on the free Starter plan, upgrade to any paid Thinkific plan to enable SeaText. Choose the paid tier that matches the number of Thinkific sites you need to connect; verify the exact site limits on Thinkific’s pricing page or contact Thinkific support.
SeaText requires a place to inject its JavaScript snippet. Thinkific only exposes the Site Footer Code field on paid plans. This is a platform‑level restriction, not a SeaText limitation. Because the snippet runs in the browser, no API access or developer tools are needed. The integration works the same way on Basic, Pro, and Premier.
SeaText delivers a lightweight client‑side script (under 15 KB) that executes in under 15 ms before the page paints, so it does not cause layout shift or hurt PageSpeed scores (source S3). When a visitor loads a Thinkific page, the script activates SeaText’s AI agents: translation into up to 125 languages, personalization based on traffic source, conversion‑focused copy rewriting, and bot‑click detection for refund reports (sources S2, S4, S6). All of these features run on the same snippet; you do not need separate installations.
www.example.com (source S1).If the site name does not appear after ten minutes, contact SeaText support (source S1).
Many users think they need the highest Thinkific tier for third‑party tools. In reality, any paid plan provides the required code field. No extra Thinkific add‑ons (such as Advanced Package or custom domain upgrades) are needed for SeaText. The integration does not use Thinkific’s API, so API‑enabled tiers are irrelevant.
This guidance reflects Thinkific’s standard plans as of 2026. Legacy plans, custom enterprise contracts, or accounts where the site owner has manually disabled custom code may behave differently. Always verify the presence of the Code & Analytics tab in your own admin. Additionally, advanced SeaText features like multi‑site management require a SeaText plan that supports the same number of sites you intend to connect; match your SeaText subscription to your Thinkific site count.
No. All SeaText agents (translation, personalization, conversion optimization, bot refund reporting) work on any paid Thinkific plan that provides the Site Footer Code field.
No. Thinkific’s free Starter plan blocks custom code injection through any method. An upgrade to a paid plan is required.
Upgrading does not affect the integration. Downgrading to the free Starter plan removes the code field, so SeaText stops working until you return to a paid tier.
Thinkific Plus includes the same custom code access as standard paid plans. The only advantage is dedicated Thinkific support for Code & Analytics issues; SeaText functionality is unchanged.
The number of sites you can connect depends on both your Thinkific plan limits and your SeaText plan limits. Thinkific defines site limits per tier; check Thinkific’s current pricing or contact their support for exact numbers. Choose a SeaText plan that covers at least that many sites.
First, ensure the snippet was pasted exactly as provided, with no extra whitespace. Clear browser cache and reload. If errors persist, verify that no other scripts block the footer code field. Contact SeaText support with the error details.

Direct Answer: SeaText can replace Thinkific's native language switcher for a smoother AI‑driven experience, but both can coexist if configured carefully. This guide explains how each tool works, the trade‑offs, decision criteria, practical scenarios, limitations, and answers common questions.
Yes, you can. SeaText's JavaScript snippet lives in Thinkific's Site Footer Code field and does not conflict with the built‑in language switcher. Thinkific's switcher controls the language of the default interface text such as “Buy Now” buttons and navigation, while SeaText translates your actual course content, headlines, and offers. The two tools handle different layers, so they can coexist as long as you don't activate both for the same text element.
However, if you want a single, AI‑driven solution that translates everything—interface and content—into 125 languages without manual setup, you can disable the Thinkific switcher and rely entirely on SeaText. This avoids confusion for students who might see both a language chooser and SeaText's automatic translation.
| Criterion | Thinkific's Built‑in Switcher | SeaText | Plain‑Language Takeaway |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Letting students choose a language for the interface | Translating your content, product copy, and offers into multiple languages | Thinkific handles interface; SeaText handles content. |
| Setup effort | Built‑in, no code required | Add JavaScript snippet to Thinkific's Site Footer Code field, then activate via visit | Thinkific is instant; SeaText takes a few minutes. |
| Language coverage | Limited to a handful of languages Thinkific supports | Up to 125 languages, including site text, buttons, and product copy | SeaText reaches far more markets. |
| AI adaptation | No AI; static translation of interface strings | AI‑driven translation that adapts to context and can be edited | SeaText gives smarter, context‑aware translations. |
| Control over translations | Students can override language, but content is not translated | Full control via Variants Edit; you can review and edit each translation | SeaText lets you fine‑tune every word. |
| Pricing model | Included in all Thinkific plans | Check with SeaText (pricing page on seatext.com) | Thinkific is free; SeaText requires a subscription. |
Thinkific's built‑in language switcher lets you set a default site language and allows students to override it. This affects only the default interface text—things like “Buy Now”, “Sign In”, and navigation labels. It does not translate your course titles, descriptions, or any content you write. The switcher is simple: you choose a language from Thinkific's settings, and students see the interface in that language.
Because the switcher only touches static UI strings, any custom text you add—lesson titles, marketing copy, checkout messages—remains in the original language. This limits global reach if you rely solely on the native switcher.
SeaText is a JavaScript‑based translation tool that you install in Thinkific's Site Footer Code field. Once installed, it reads your page content and uses AI to translate every headline, button, product description, and offer into up to 125 languages. The translations appear instantly for visitors based on their browser language or a configurable selector. You can also edit any translation through the Variants Edit panel in SeaText's dashboard.
The script runs before the page paints, so there is no visible layout shift. It also rewrites buttons and calls to action, not just body copy. This means the entire funnel—from landing page to checkout—can appear in the visitor's language.
Course creators sell to a global audience. If the interface is in English but the lesson content is not translated, non‑English speakers may drop off. Using only Thinkific's switcher leaves most of your revenue‑generating content untranslated. SeaText translates the content that drives purchases, which can increase conversion rates in new markets.
A unified language experience builds trust. When a visitor sees the same language across navigation, headlines, and checkout, they are more likely to complete a purchase. Mixing two different language selectors can create a disjointed experience and raise support tickets.
Step 1: Copy the JavaScript code from your SeaText dashboard. Step 2: In Thinkific, go to Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code and paste the snippet. Step 3: Save and visit your site once, staying on the page for at least 40 seconds. This activates the AI and links the domain to your SeaText account. Step 4: Wait a few minutes for the connection indicator to appear in the SeaText UI. After that, translations generate automatically.
You can then open the Variants Edit panel, select a URL and language, and manually adjust any translation. Changes publish instantly without further code edits.
Scenario A: A small English‑only course with a few Spanish‑speaking students. Keep Thinkific's switcher for UI; no need for SeaText.
Scenario B: A creator launching a marketing funnel in French, German, and Japanese. Install SeaText, disable Thinkific's switcher, and let SeaText handle all text layers.
Scenario C: An established school with existing Thinkific translations for UI but wants to translate new course modules. Keep Thinkific switcher for UI, add SeaText for content only. Ensure only one language selector is visible to students.
Thinkific's switcher still influences the interface, so if you disable it, some default buttons may remain in English. SeaText can handle buttons, but it may not cover every static string. Also, SeaText requires a 40‑second activation visit after installation. If you remove the switcher, test that all pages translate correctly. SeaText's pricing is separate from Thinkific, so factor in the subscription cost.
SeaText works in the browser. If students use Thinkific's native mobile app, translations may not appear. Check with Thinkific support for app compatibility. Running both selectors on the same page can confuse users; choose one visible selector.

Direct Answer: The three most common mistakes are placing the embed code in the header instead of the footer, enabling aggressive minification that removes the script, or forgetting to publish the snippet. These issues prevent the SeaText loader from running on your live site. Additional pitfalls include skipping the activation visit, not waiting for propagation, and failing to activate AI agents.
The three most common mistakes that cause SeaText to stop working on Thinkific are placing the embed code in the header instead of the footer, enabling aggressive minification that removes the script, or forgetting to publish the snippet. Each of these issues prevents the SeaText loader from running on your live site. This guide explains each mistake and how to fix it.
Thinkific loads the Site Footer Code after the page content, which lets SeaText scan and rewrite text without blocking the initial render. If you paste the snippet into the header or a custom script box in the theme editor, the script may execute before the DOM is ready or get stripped by Thinkific's security filters. The official steps explicitly say: "In the Site Footer Code field, paste the code Click Save" (S1). Using any other location is the single most frequent cause of a silent failure — no error message, just no translations.
After saving the snippet, you must visit your own site and stay for at least 40 seconds. This handshake tells SeaText the domain is live and links it to your account. The documentation states: "Visit your website once and stay on your page for at least 40 seconds—this will activate the AI and link it to your account" (S1). Closing the tab early, using a cached preview, or testing in an incognito window that blocks third‑party scripts will all prevent the connection. Wait the full 40 seconds on a real browser session.
Even after the activation visit, the SeaText dashboard needs up to five minutes to display your site name next to the logo. The guide warns: "Wait at least five minutes until you see your website name displayed next to the SEATEXT logo at the top of this page. If you do not see it at the top of the page after 10 minutes, please contact our support team immediately" (S1). Checking too early and assuming failure leads to unnecessary re‑installs or support tickets.
Thinkific's built‑in performance features or third‑party optimization tools (like Cloudflare Rocket Loader) can minify or defer JavaScript in ways that remove the SeaText loader. Because the snippet is under 15 KB and executes synchronously before paint, any defer or async attribute breaks the 15 ms rewrite window. If you enable aggressive minification, add the SeaText domain to the exclusion list or disable script combining for that snippet. Generic JavaScript minification/deferral in a CDN or optimization layer can also strip the script. Test by temporarily disabling these features.
After pasting the code into Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code, you must click Save. However, the snippet only takes effect on the published theme. If you have a draft theme or unsaved theme changes, the saved snippet may not appear on the live site. To check: go to Design → Theme and ensure the active theme is published. If you see a "Publish" button, click it. Then view the live site source and search for the SeaText script near the closing </body> tag. If the script is missing, re‑save the footer code and re‑publish the theme. This mistake is common after theme updates or when switching themes.
Installing the snippet only connects the site. You still need to "Proceed to the Main AI Hub to activate the necessary AI on your preferred pages" and "Click on 'Configuration' to adjust the AI parameters" (S1). Without this step, the script loads but no translation or rewrite agents run. This is a separate dashboard action, not an automatic consequence of the Thinkific install.
When you publish a new Thinkific theme or clear the site cache, the Site Footer Code field persists, but some CDN layers serve a stale HTML shell without the snippet for a few minutes. Test the live URL (not the preview) after every theme publish. If translations disappear, wait for the CDN TTL to expire or purge the CDN cache manually, then repeat the 40‑second visit.

| Required Thinkific field | Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code |
| Activation visit | Stay on live site ≥ 40 seconds |
| Dashboard propagation | Up to 5 minutes (10 minutes before contacting support) |

This article covers only the Thinkific JavaScript integration path. Server‑side or API integrations, subdomain setups, and multi‑site configurations have different failure modes. Thinkific platform updates may change the Code & Analytics UI; always verify the current field name in your admin. The 40‑second and five‑minute timings are based on SeaText's published documentation and may vary with network latency.
Course pages may use a different layout template that excludes the Site Footer Code. Confirm the snippet loads on those URLs via view‑source. If missing, you may need to add the snippet to a custom theme layout or contact Thinkific support about global footer inclusion.
Yes, but GTM containers often fire after the DOM ready event, adding latency. SeaText's 15 ms synchronous execution works best when placed directly in the footer field. If you use GTM, set the tag to fire on "Page View" with no trigger delays.
Re‑check the snippet placement, clear all caches, make a fresh 40‑second visit, and wait another 10 minutes. If still disconnected, contact SeaText support with your site URL and a screenshot of the Thinkific footer field.
Only paid Thinkific plans (Basic, Pro, Premier) include the Code & Analytics tab. The free plan does not expose the Site Footer Code field, so SeaText cannot be installed on free tiers.
The script is under 15 KB, executes synchronously in under 15 ms before visual paint, and reports CLS = 0. It does not harm PageSpeed scores when installed correctly in the footer.
SeaText updates the script automatically on their CDN. The snippet in your footer field is a loader that pulls the latest version. You only need to replace it if SeaText instructs you to copy a new loader code.

Direct Answer: To update SeaText language models after adding a new course language in Thinkific, add the new language in your SeaText dashboard, ensure the SeaText JavaScript snippet is in Thinkific's Site Footer Code field, visit your site for 40 seconds to activate the link, wait at least 5 minutes and confirm the site name appears next to the SeaText logo, then review translations in Variants Edit.
Before starting, confirm you have already added the new language to your Thinkific course and published at least one piece of content in that language. You will also need admin access to both your Thinkific account and your SeaText dashboard. Your Thinkific site must already be linked to your SeaText account via the JavaScript integration. If you have not yet installed SeaText on your Thinkific site, complete the initial integration first by pasting the SeaText JavaScript snippet into your Thinkific Site Footer Code field, then visiting your site for 40 seconds to activate the link between the two platforms.
Log in to your SeaText account and navigate to the language settings section. This is typically found under the "Translation" or "Website Translation" tab in your main dashboard. Locate the option to add a new target language. Select the exact language you added to your Thinkific course from the dropdown list. Save the change. SeaText supports up to 125 languages. The new language will appear in your list of active translation targets once added.
After adding the new language, you need to ensure the integration link is active. First, confirm that the SeaText JavaScript snippet is still in the Site Footer Code field of your Thinkific settings. Go to your Thinkific Admin Dashboard, select Settings, then the Code & Analytics tab, and check the Site Footer Code field. The SeaText code should be there. If not, paste it again. Next, visit your Thinkific site in a browser. Stay on the page for at least 40 seconds. This activates the AI and links it to your account. Wait at least 5 minutes. Then return to your SeaText dashboard. Look at the top of the page. Your site name should appear next to the SeaText logo. This confirms the connection is working.
Once the site name is visible, your new language content is ready for review. SeaText automatically generates initial translations for the new language. Go to the SeaText dashboard. Navigate to "Variants Edit" in the left panel. Select the URL of your Thinkific site and the new language. Here you can review, create, or manually edit translations for any page element. This is where you ensure accuracy for course content, navigation, buttons, and static text. You can adjust translations for niche terminology or brand-specific language as needed.
The most common error is forgetting to publish content in the new language in Thinkific before adding the language in SeaText. SeaText can only translate content that is publicly accessible. Unpublished draft content will not be picked up. Another frequent issue is not waiting the full 5 minutes after visiting your site to check for the site name. The activation and linking process takes time. Also, ensure you have not disabled the SeaText JavaScript snippet in your Thinkific Site Footer Code. If the snippet is missing, the integration will not work. Finally, if you do not see your site name after 10 minutes, contact SeaText support for assistance.
You will need to repeat this process every time you add a significant amount of new content to your Thinkific course in the new language. Examples include publishing a full new course module or updating multiple lessons at once. For small, incremental updates like adding a single quiz question or editing a lesson description, the existing translations may still be current. However, to ensure new content is translated, you should repeat the activation step: visit your site for 40 seconds and wait for the site name to appear. This will trigger the AI to process the new content. If you add additional new languages to Thinkific in the future, repeat the full process of adding the language to SeaText, activating the link, and reviewing in Variants Edit for each new language.
| Fact | Details |
|---|---|
| Integration method | SeaText connects to Thinkific via a JavaScript snippet added to the Thinkific Site Footer Code field |
| Activation requirement | You must visit your linked Thinkific site for at least 40 seconds to activate the SeaText integration after initial setup or after adding a new language |
| Confirmation check | Wait at least 5 minutes, then check for your site name next to the SeaText logo at the top of the SeaText dashboard |
| Supported languages | SeaText translates content into up to 125 languages for Thinkific sites |
| Translation editing | You can manually review and edit translations in the SeaText "Variants Edit" section for any URL and language pair |
This update process only applies to content that is publicly accessible on your Thinkific site. Private, gated, or draft course content will not be translated until it is published. SeaText’s translations are context-aware but may require manual adjustment for niche industry terminology or brand-specific language. You can edit these directly in the Variants Edit section. Additionally, if you use custom third-party plugins or embedded content in your Thinkific courses, the translation of that content may be product-dependent. Check with SeaText support for specific limitations regarding non-standard content blocks. The activation step (visit for 40 seconds, wait 5 minutes) is required each time you add a new language to ensure the AI picks up the new content.
After adding a new language and activating the link by visiting your site for 40 seconds, you should wait at least 5 minutes. Then check if your site name appears next to the SeaText logo. Once it does, the translations are generated. The exact timing can vary, but the activation step is the documented method.
No, you do not need to reinstall the SeaText JavaScript snippet. The initial integration remains active. You only need to add the new language to your SeaText dashboard and then activate the link by visiting your site for 40 seconds.
SeaText translates the public-facing content of your Thinkific site, including course pages, lesson content, and site navigation. It does not translate Thinkific’s native student dashboard or account interface elements, as those are hosted on Thinkific’s servers and not part of your public site content.
First confirm you have added the language correctly in your SeaText account’s language settings. If it still does not appear, check that your Thinkific site is properly linked to SeaText by looking for your site name next to the SeaText logo in your dashboard. If the link is broken, you may need to re-activate the integration by visiting your Thinkific site for 40 seconds again.
For small updates, the existing translations may still be current. However, to ensure new content is translated, it is recommended to repeat the activation step: visit your site for 40 seconds and wait for the site name to appear. This triggers the AI to process new content. The process is designed to handle both large and small updates.

Direct Answer: The "script blocked" error appears when a browser's Content Security Policy prevents the SeaText script from loading from https://cdn.seatext.com. This article explains the error, shows how to diagnose it using browser tools, and outlines the Thinkific installation steps from SeaText's official guide.
The browser console shows a "script blocked" error when a Content Security Policy (CSP) refuses to load the SeaText JavaScript from https://cdn.seatext.com. CSP is a security mechanism that tells the browser which sources are allowed to load scripts, styles, and other resources. If a request's origin does not match an allowed source, the browser blocks it and logs a violation.
A "script blocked" message in the console means the browser enforced a CSP directive and stopped a script from loading. The message usually includes the blocked URL and the specific directive that caused the block, such as script-src. This is not a network failure; it is an intentional policy decision by the page.
SeaText delivers its translation library from https://cdn.seatext.com. If the page's CSP does not include that domain in its script-src directive, the browser will block the request. The SeaText embed snippet itself may also be treated as an inline script, which many CSPs block unless explicitly allowed.
According to the SeaText Thinkific integration guide, installation works as follows:
The snippet loads the main SeaText library from https://cdn.seatext.com. That library then initializes the translation engine, language selector, and any personalization agents you have activated.
Because the snippet runs in the page context, it is subject to the page's CSP. If the policy does not allow the SeaText CDN, the browser blocks the download and SeaText never initializes.
The following is general background about CSP, not specific to Thinkific or SeaText.
CSP can be delivered via an HTTP header (Content-Security-Policy) or a <meta http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy"> tag. When a page loads, the browser checks every resource request against the policy. Directives like script-src, connect-src, and img-src control which origins are allowed for scripts, API calls, and images respectively.
A policy of script-src 'self' allows scripts only from the same origin. Adding https://cdn.seatext.com to that directive permits the SeaText library. Inline scripts require 'unsafe-inline', a nonce, or a hash. External API calls require the API domain in connect-src.
If multiple CSP policies exist (header plus meta tag), the browser enforces the intersection — the strictest combination.
Follow these steps to see exactly what the browser blocked. Each step relies on observable console behavior.
https://cdn.seatext.com/....script-src 'self' https://example.com.Content-Security-Policy in the response headers. Copy the full value.script-src and connect-src directives. Check whether https://cdn.seatext.com and any SeaText API domain appear. If the blocked URL is the SeaText CDN and the directive does not list it, that is the cause. If the error mentions an inline script and the policy lacks 'unsafe-inline' or a nonce/hash, that is the cause.
After adjusting the CSP (see below), verify that SeaText activates using the steps from the official guide:
Once connected, proceed to the Main AI Hub to activate the necessary AI on your preferred pages. Click "Configuration" to adjust AI parameters. Optionally, log in to your SeaText account, navigate to "Variants Edit" in the left panel, and review or edit translations for specific URLs and languages.
Thinkific does not provide a CSP editor in its admin UI. A common workaround is to add a <meta http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy"> tag in the Site Footer Code field before the SeaText snippet. This adds a second policy that the browser intersects with any existing header.
Example meta tag that extends a typical policy (replace the entire content with your actual policy plus the SeaText domains):
<meta http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy" content="default-src 'self'; script-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline' https://cdn.seatext.com; connect-src 'self' https://api.seatext.com; img-src 'self' data: https://cdn.seatext.com; style-src 'self' 'unsafe-inline';">
Steps:
Important: The meta tag replaces the browser's effective policy for that page. If you omit a directive that Thinkific's original header included (e.g., frame-ancestors), you may weaken other protections. Copy the full existing policy from the Network tab, then add only the SeaText domains to the relevant directives.

Direct Answer: Run a SeaText audit after major content releases, before promotional campaigns, and on a quarterly routine. This timing keeps translations accurate, AI agents active, and your site ready for traffic spikes.
Run a SeaText quality audit right after you publish a big batch of new courses or site pages, just before you launch a marketing push, and then every three months as a regular health check.
Before you start, verify that the SeaText snippet is present on every public page. Open the Thinkific admin, go to Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code, and confirm the script is saved. Next, make a list of URLs that have changed since the last audit. Include new course landing pages, updated pricing tables, and any revised checkout flows. Finally, schedule a quiet window of at least 30 minutes so you can visit each URL for the required activation time without interruptions.
The audit report groups findings by page and language. Look for three categories: missing translations, variant mismatches, and script errors. Missing translations mean the AI has not yet generated a version for that language; you can trigger generation from the Variants Edit panel. Variant mismatches show where the AI output diverges from your approved copy; edit the variant manually or adjust the source text. Script errors indicate the SeaText snippet failed to load; re‑verify the Site Footer Code placement and clear any caching layers.
A focused audit targets a subset of pages — for example, a new course launch or a specific promotional landing page. Run a focused audit when you need rapid feedback on a small change. A full audit scans every public URL on the Thinkific site. Schedule a full audit quarterly, after major content releases, and before large paid‑traffic campaigns. The full audit gives a baseline for overall translation health and AI activation status.
If you are in the middle of a content migration, or if a major platform update is pending, hold off. Running an audit during rapid change can give misleading results because the site is still unstable.
When a critical bug or translation error is discovered, run a focused audit immediately, even if it’s not a scheduled quarter. Fix the issue first, then run the full audit to confirm everything else is still healthy.
A SeaText quality audit reviews every AI‑generated translation, variant, and dynamic rewrite on your Thinkific site. It checks for broken scripts, mismatched copy, and compliance with your brand guidelines.
Running the audit at the right moments catches problems before they affect learners or ad spend. Missed timing can let broken translations stay live, hurting conversion rates and user experience.

Direct Answer: If a SeaText translation breaks your Thinkific checkout, you can fix it by editing the translation in the SeaText Variants Edit panel. This method works without changing your Thinkific site code. You can also check the SeaText JavaScript snippet installation if the issue persists. The process takes a few minutes.
If a SeaText translation breaks your Thinkific checkout, you can fix it without editing your site code. The only supported method in the SeaText dashboard is to manually edit the translation for the affected page. This guide explains how to identify and fix the problem using the tools SeaText provides.
SeaText uses a JavaScript snippet installed in your Thinkific site footer. This snippet reads the visitor's language and applies translations dynamically. It does not change your Thinkific theme files. The translations are stored in your SeaText account and can be edited for each URL and language.
When a translation breaks your checkout flow, it means the translated text causes errors or missing buttons. This is not a problem with Thinkific itself. It is a problem with the translation content.
After you install the SeaText snippet, you link your website by visiting it once. Then SeaText provides initial automatic translations. You can review and edit these translations in the "Variants Edit" panel. This panel shows each URL and language pair. You can change the text for any element on the page.
Translations are applied in the browser. They do not create separate indexed URLs. This means rolling back or fixing a translation only affects the live display on your site.
If your checkout breaks, first isolate the issue. Check if the problem occurs only in a specific language. If the checkout works in English but fails in French, the translation is the likely cause. Look for missing or broken buttons, incorrect form fields, or error messages that do not match the expected text.
Use Thinkific's test checkout tool to simulate a purchase. This helps you see the exact behavior without charging a real card. If the test works in the base language but fails in the translated language, you have a translation problem.
To fix a broken translation, follow these steps:
This method is the only rollback option SeaText provides. There is no version history or one-click revert. You must manually restore the correct text.
If editing the translation does not fix the checkout, the SeaText snippet may be missing or corrupted. Check your Thinkific admin under Settings > Code & Analytics. Look for the SeaText code in the Site Footer Code field. If the code is missing, reinstall it using the code from your SeaText dashboard.
To get the code, go to your SeaText account and find the integration section. Copy the JavaScript code provided. Then paste it into the Site Footer Code field in Thinkific. Save and test again.
If the snippet is present and the translation is correct, but the checkout still breaks, the issue may be a Thinkific update or a conflict with another script. Contact SeaText support for help.
To avoid broken translations, test every new translation on a staging environment if possible. Use the SeaText Variants Edit panel to review automatic translations before publishing. Check that all buttons, form fields, and error messages display correctly in each language.
Keep a record of the original English text for each page. This makes it easier to restore if a translation goes wrong. You can always revert to the original by editing the variant back to the English text.
Also, limit the number of languages you activate at once. Start with one or two new languages and test thoroughly before adding more.
No. SeaText does not offer a version history or rollback feature in the current sources. The only way to revert a translation is to manually edit the variant back to the previous correct text.
Changes made in the Variants Edit panel should take effect within a few minutes. Clear your browser cache and reload the page to see the update.
No. Editing a variant for a specific URL and language only changes that page. Other pages and languages remain unaffected.
No. Editing translations does not require any changes to your Thinkific site code.
The Variants Edit panel is available after you have installed the SeaText snippet and linked your website. If you do not see it, contact SeaText support.
No. SeaText translations are served dynamically. They do not create separate indexed URLs. Changing the translation text does not impact your base language SEO.

Direct Answer: You can customize SeaText translations for your Thinkific site by installing a JavaScript snippet in your Thinkific admin settings, linking the site to your SeaText account, then using the Variants Edit tool in the SeaText dashboard to review and manually edit automatic translation strings. This lets you align translated copy with your brand voice and course-specific terminology without full-site manual localization.
Customizing SeaText translations for your Thinkific site helps you control how your course content sounds in other languages. You do not need to translate every page by hand. SeaText provides automatic translations for up to 125 languages, and you edit only the strings that need adjustment. The process works through a few simple steps in your Thinkific admin and SeaText dashboard.
Your Thinkific course pages use specific terms. Words like "enroll," "module," or "lesson plan" may have different meanings in different languages. Automatic translations can miss these nuances. By customizing translations, you keep your brand voice consistent across all languages. International students also trust a site that speaks their language naturally. Custom edits help you avoid awkward phrasing that confuses learners. This builds credibility and can increase course sales globally.
SeaText uses an AI translation agent that first creates translations for all your Thinkific page content. After the initial translation, you can review and override any string using the Variants Edit tool. This is a visual editor inside your SeaText dashboard. You select the language and page you want to edit, then change the translated text directly. The system saves your edits and applies them to your live site. You do not need to edit the underlying code or create duplicate pages.
www.yourthinkificsite.com. Then visit your Thinkific site and stay on the page for at least 40 seconds. This activates the AI and links the site to your account. Wait 5 to 10 minutes. Check the top of your SeaText dashboard for your site name next to the SeaText logo. If it does not appear after 10 minutes, contact SeaText support.Focus on the languages that bring you the most international traffic. Check your Thinkific analytics to see which countries your visitors come from. Start with those languages. Within each language, prioritize high-impact pages. Course enrollment pages, checkout flows, and navigation menus are the most visible to students. Landing pages for specific courses also benefit from customized translations. You can edit individual page strings in Variants Edit without affecting the whole site. This saves time and ensures the most important pages sound right.
Manual overrides give you full control, but they require effort. You need to review each string and decide if the automatic translation fits your brand. If you have many languages, this can take time. Also, if you later update your Thinkific page content, the automatic translation will generate a new version. Your manual override will stay as a variant. You may need to re-edit if the new content changes the meaning. Overrides are best for key terms and phrases that the AI frequently gets wrong. For generic text, the automatic translation is often good enough.
When you update a course description or add a new module, SeaText automatically generates new translations for the changed content. Your manual overrides remain saved as variants. You can review them in Variants Edit to see if they still match the new text. If the update changes the meaning, edit the override again. Check your most important pages after each content change. This ensures international students always see accurate, brand-aligned translations.

Direct Answer: SeaText accepts any valid ISO‑639‑1 or ISO‑3166‑1 code in its dashboard, so you can add a custom locale there. However, Thinkific only switches its own interface (menus, buttons, checkout) for the languages it officially supports. If Thinkific doesn't recognize the code, the SeaText translation layer will still run on your content, but the platform chrome stays in the default language.
Yes, you can add custom language codes in SeaText, but Thinkific must also recognize the code for the platform UI to switch languages. SeaText supports any ISO‑639‑1/ISO‑3166‑1 code; you can add a custom code in the dashboard, but Thinkific will only display its own interface in the languages it officially supports. If Thinkific doesn't recognize the code, your translated content will appear, but menus, buttons, and checkout will remain in the site's default language.
SeaText's translation agent works with standard language identifiers. The dashboard lets you enter any code that follows ISO‑639‑1 (two‑letter language) or ISO‑3166‑1 (two‑letter country) patterns, such as fr-CA for Canadian French or zh-Hant for Traditional Chinese. When you add a code, SeaText creates a translation variant for that locale and serves it when a visitor's browser or a URL parameter requests it.
SeaText does not limit you to a predefined list. You can type any code that follows the ISO pattern. For example, you can use en-GB for British English, pt-BR for Brazilian Portuguese, or es-MX for Mexican Spanish. The system will generate a new variant for that code. It will also add hreflang tags to help search engines index the variant correctly.
One important detail: SeaText interprets the code as a language identifier. It does not validate whether the code is officially registered. If you enter a code like xx-YY (which is not a real locale), SeaText will still create a variant. But browsers and search engines may not recognize it. Always use a real ISO‑639‑1 and ISO‑3166‑1 combination for best results.
Thinkific separates site content (your course lessons, descriptions, custom pages) from platform chrome (navigation, checkout buttons, system emails). You can write course material in any language, but the built‑in UI only switches for the languages Thinkific officially supports — currently English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, and a few others. If a locale isn't on that list, Thinkific falls back to the site's default language for all system elements.
Thinkific's official language list is fixed. You cannot add a new language to the Thinkific dashboard. The platform uses translation packs for each supported language. For example, if you select French as the site default, Thinkific will display all system text in French. But if you add a custom code like fr-CA in SeaText, Thinkific does not have a separate translation pack for Canadian French. It will use the standard French pack if the site default is set to French, or fall back to English if the default is English.
This means the platform chrome will never show a custom variant. It will show the closest official language or the default. Students will see system messages in that language, not in the custom code you added.
SeaText injects its JavaScript into the Thinkific site footer (see the integration steps in the source pack). Once loaded, it detects the active locale — either from a lang query parameter, a cookie, or the browser's Accept-Language header — and swaps the text nodes it manages. This means your headlines, lesson bodies, and custom CTAs appear in the custom code you added. The Thinkific chrome, however, remains in the platform's default language because Thinkific itself doesn't have a translation pack for that code.
The integration is straightforward. You copy a JavaScript snippet from SeaText and paste it into Thinkific's Site Footer Code field (Settings → Code & Analytics). Then you visit your site for at least 40 seconds to activate the domain. Once active, SeaText will start serving the appropriate variant based on the visitor's locale.
Thinkific's own language setting is independent. You can set the site default language to any of the officially supported codes. That language controls the checkout, navigation, and emails. SeaText's variants only affect the content you control.
hreflang tags for every active variant, including custom codes. Search engines will index the translated content, but users clicking from SERPs may land on a page where the platform UI doesn't match.Let's look at a specific example. Suppose you run a course for French speakers in Canada. You add fr-CA in SeaText and translate all your content. Thinkific's official language list includes French (France) but not Canadian French. If you set the site default to French, then the system UI will appear in standard French. However, your content in fr-CA will have different phrasing (e.g., "courriel" instead of "email"). The student will see a mix of standard French buttons and Canadian French content. That may be acceptable for your audience.
Another example: you want to offer content in Basque (eu). Thinkific does not support Basque. The system UI will always be in English (or another default). Your Basque content will be translated, but all buttons and navigation remain in English. This creates a disjointed experience. Only use this if your students are already familiar with the default language.
?lang=xx-YY. Verify that critical CTAs and checkout flow remain usable. For example, if you add de-AT for Austrian German, Thinkific supports German (Germany). The system UI will be in standard German. That is a good match. Austrian German content will have some vocabulary differences (e.g., "Sackerl" instead of "Tüte"), but the UI is understandable. This is a low-risk custom code.
If you add ar-SA for Arabic (Saudi Arabia), Thinkific does not support Arabic. The UI will be in English. Worse, Arabic is right-to-left. SeaText handles the content direction, but Thinkific's chrome may not display correctly. This could break the layout. Avoid custom codes for right-to-left languages unless you test thoroughly.
| Mistake | Why It Hurts | Fix |
|---|---|---|
Using a non‑standard code like en-UK instead of en-GB | SeaText may create the variant, but browsers and Thinkific won't recognize it, so auto‑detection fails. | Stick to ISO‑639‑1/ISO‑3166‑1 combos. |
| Assuming Thinkific emails translate | System emails (order receipts, password resets) are sent by Thinkific, not SeaText. | Customize email templates in Thinkific or accept the default language. |
Forgetting hreflang for custom codes | Search engines may treat the variant as duplicate content. | SeaText adds tags automatically; verify in page source. |
| Setting the site default to a language that conflicts with the custom code | If you set the default to French but use fr-CA, the UI will be in French, but the content may have conflicting terms. That is usually fine, but be aware. | Match the default to the closest official language, or keep it neutral. |
Another limitation: SeaText's detection of the visitor's language relies on browser settings or URL parameters. If a student's browser is set to a language that matches your custom code, SeaText will switch automatically. But if the browser language is not an exact match, you need to provide a language selector or use a URL parameter. Thinkific's own language selector only shows official languages, so you cannot rely on it for custom codes.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| SeaText supported locales | Any valid ISO‑639‑1 / ISO‑3166‑1 code |
| Thinkific officially supported UI languages | ~11 languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Chinese Simplified, Japanese, Korean, plus a few others) |
| Integration method | JavaScript snippet in Thinkific Site Footer Code (Settings → Code & Analytics) |
| Translation scope | SeaText translates page content; Thinkific chrome stays in default language for unsupported codes |
| Activation requirement | Visit the site once for ≥40 seconds after install to link the domain |
Yes. The dashboard accepts free‑text entry for any ISO‑compliant code. SeaText will generate a translation variant for it.
No. Checkout, system buttons, and automated emails remain in the site's default language unless Thinkific officially supports that locale.
Set the site default language to the most widely understood fallback (usually English). Do not enable Thinkific's "Allow students to override" for the custom code — it won't appear in Thinkific's selector.
Append ?lang=xx-YY to any URL, or let SeaText's auto‑detection (browser language, geo‑IP, referrer) switch them. You can also link directly to /courses/course-slug?lang=xx-YY.
No. SeaText runs in the browser; Thinkific sends emails server‑side. Edit email templates in Thinkific's Settings → Notifications if you need a different language.
SeaText stops serving that variant. Existing hreflang links return 404 unless you set up redirects. Visitors with that browser language fall back to the default variant.
Each variant adds a small translation payload. SeaText's script is under 15 KB and executes before paint, so CLS stays at 0. The main cost is translation management time, not page speed.
ara for Arabic? No. SeaText expects two-letter ISO‑639‑1 codes. Three-letter codes (ISO‑639‑2) are not supported. Use ar for Arabic.
en-US and en-GB?Yes. You can add both. Thinkific's UI will be in English for both, but the content can differ. This is useful for spelling and vocabulary differences.
xyz?SeaText will create the variant, but browsers and search engines will not recognize it. Auto-detection by browser language will not work. Only use real ISO codes.

Direct Answer: Learn how to test Thinkific translation changes safely on a staging sandbox site. This guide covers creating a Thinkific Plus sandbox, linking a dedicated SeaText project, installing the SeaText snippet, editing translations in the Variants Edit panel, previewing changes in Thinkific's preview mode, and validating functionality before pushing translations to your live course site. Includes troubleshooting tips, common mistakes to avoid, and FAQs for Thinkific course creators.
Testing translations on a staging Thinkific site requires a Thinkific Plus plan. Sandbox sites are only available to Plus subscribers, per Thinkific's support documentation.
You also need a SeaText account with access to the Website Translation Agent. This agent is included in standard SeaText plans, no extra add-on is required.
If you use a lower Thinkific tier, you cannot create a native isolated sandbox. You would need to test on your live site during low-traffic windows, or use a separate 14-day Thinkific trial site as a workaround.
This workflow matters because untested translations can break course enrollment, checkout flows, and lesson access for real students. Staging lets you catch these errors risk-free.
Log in to your Thinkific Plus admin dashboard. Navigate to the Sandbox Sites section in your site settings.
Click "Create New Sandbox" to generate a full clone of your live site. This clone includes all your courses, pages, theme settings, and site structure.
Your sandbox will have a unique URL, typically formatted as yoursite-sandbox.thinkific.com. This URL is completely separate from your live production site.
All changes made in the sandbox stay in the sandbox. You will never accidentally break your live course site while testing.
This step is critical for course creators with high enrollment volumes. A broken translation on a live site could block hundreds of students from purchasing courses during a launch.
Log in to your SeaText dashboard. Create a new project specifically for your sandbox site URL.
Do not reuse your production SeaText project for staging tests. Using a separate project keeps translation variants, A/B test data, and analytics completely isolated.
If you test untested translations in your production project, real visitors will see broken or incorrect copy. A separate project eliminates this risk.
Enter your sandbox domain (for example, yoursite-sandbox.thinkific.com) when prompted during project setup. SeaText will generate a unique JavaScript snippet for this project.
SeaText projects share the same account quota across your plan. Your sandbox project counts toward your total project limit, but does not require a separate paid subscription.
If you run multiple staging environments (for example, a QA site and a pre-prod site), create a separate SeaText project for each to avoid cross-contamination of test data.
Copy the JavaScript code generated for your sandbox SeaText project. Log in to your sandbox Thinkific admin dashboard.
Navigate to Settings, then select the Code & Analytics tab. Find the Site Footer Code field at the bottom of the page.
Paste the full SeaText snippet into this field. Click Save to apply the change to all pages on your sandbox site.
Next, activate the SeaText integration. Visit your sandbox site's homepage in a standard browser window. Stay on the page for at least 40 seconds.
This 40-second visit is required for SeaText to confirm your domain is live and accessible. Automated crawlers or headless scripts will not trigger this activation step.
After visiting, wait at least five minutes for SeaText to verify the snippet is loaded correctly. You will see your sandbox site name appear next to the SeaText logo at the top of your SeaText dashboard.
If the site name does not appear after 10 minutes, double-check that you pasted the snippet in the Site Footer Code field, not the header or custom code sections. If the issue persists, contact SeaText support for assistance.
Open your SeaText dashboard and select the sandbox project. Navigate to Variants Edit in the left-hand navigation panel.
Select your sandbox URL and the target language you want to review. SeaText will load all existing page content for that language.
SeaText provides an initial round of automatic translations for up to 125 languages, per SeaText's product documentation. This covers most major global languages and many regional dialects.
Review each translation variant carefully. Look for errors in course-specific jargon, such as incorrect translations of "module", "lesson", or "enrollment".
You can edit any translation manually, or create new custom variants to match your brand's voice. All changes are saved only to your sandbox project, so they will not affect your live site.
For course creators, pay special attention to translations of pricing, enrollment deadlines, and calls to action. A mistranslated "Enroll Now" button could lead to lost sales.
Log in to your sandbox Thinkific admin. Navigate to any course landing page, checkout page, or custom page you want to test.
Click the Preview button in the top right corner of the page editor. This loads the page exactly as a public visitor would see it, with the SeaText script active.
Switch your browser's language setting, or use SeaText's language selector if you have enabled it, to view the page in each target language.
Check for common translation-related issues first. Look for layout breaks: long translations (for example, German or Russian text) may overflow buttons or text boxes.
Check for truncated text, missing dynamic variables (like course prices or student names that fail to populate), and broken links. If you support Arabic or Hebrew, verify that right-to-left rendering displays correctly, with text aligned to the right and UI elements flipped appropriately.
Test all critical user flows in each language: sign up for a free course, purchase a paid course, access a lesson, and submit a quiz. Ensure all steps work without errors.
Run a full validation checklist on your sandbox before pushing translations to your live site. This ensures no errors will affect your paying students.
1. Critical user flows work in every language: Test sign-up, purchase, lesson access, and community forum access for each target language. Broken flows will lead to lost revenue and support tickets.
2. SEO meta tags are correct: Verify that page titles, meta descriptions, and hreflang tags are present and accurate for each language. Hreflang tags tell search engines which language version to show to users in different regions, so incorrect tags will hurt your organic search traffic.
3. Analytics events fire correctly: SeaText tracks conversion and engagement data by language and traffic source. Confirm that analytics events pass the correct language parameter so you can measure performance per market.
4. No console errors: Open your browser's developer console while browsing the sandbox. Look for errors from the SeaText script. Script errors can break other site functionality, like Thinkific's payment processing or quiz tools.
5. Core Web Vitals scores are acceptable: SeaText executes synchronously in under 15 milliseconds before visual paint, per SeaText's performance data. The script is under 15 KB in size, so it does not slow down page load times. It causes zero Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), meaning the page will not jump or shift when translations load.
Once your sandbox passes all validation checks, you can push translations to your live site. You can either manually replicate the variant settings from your sandbox SeaText project to your production project, or use SeaText's export/import feature if available on your plan.
Install the production SeaText snippet on your live Thinkific site using the same Settings → Code & Analytics → Site Footer Code method you used for the sandbox. Your live site will now serve the tested translations to visitors.
Thinkific course sites often have dynamic, user-specific content. This includes course prices, enrollment deadlines, student progress trackers, and personalized dashboard links.
Testing translations directly on a live site risks showing broken or incorrect content to real students. A mistranslated "Enroll" button that links to the wrong course could lead to accidental purchases and refund requests.
Staging also lets you test how translations interact with Thinkific's built-in tools. This includes checkout flows, quiz engines, and community forum integrations, which often have dynamic content that is easy to miss in manual translation reviews.
For course creators running limited-time launches, a translation error on a live site could block hundreds of students from purchasing during your peak sales window. Staging eliminates this risk entirely.
Many course creators run into avoidable issues when setting up their staging translation workflow. Here are the most common mistakes and their fixes:
Mistake 1: Reusing your production SeaText project for sandbox testing. This leads to untested translations being shown to live visitors. Always create a separate SeaText project for your sandbox domain.
Mistake 2: Skipping the 40-second activation visit. SeaText will not link your sandbox domain to your project if you do not visit the site for at least 40 seconds. Automated crawlers will not count toward this requirement.
Mistake 3: Installing the SeaText snippet in the wrong location. The snippet must be pasted in the Site Footer Code field in Thinkific's Settings → Code & Analytics tab. Pasting it in the header or custom CSS fields can break your site's theme or cause layout shifts.
Mistake 4: Not testing dynamic content. Automatic translations often fail to populate dynamic variables like course prices, student names, or enrollment deadlines. Test all dynamic content in each target language to ensure it loads correctly.
Mistake 5: Forgetting to test right-to-left languages properly. Arabic and Hebrew require right-to-left layout alignment. You may need to adjust your Thinkific theme's CSS for these languages, in addition to providing translations.
The exact steps you test will vary based on the type of course site you run. Here are common scenarios and what to validate for each:
Self-paced course sites: Test that all lesson titles, module descriptions, quiz text, and completion certificates translate correctly. Verify that student progress tracking works in each language, and that course completion certificates generate with the correct translated text.
Cohort-based course sites: Test that live session links, enrollment deadlines, community forum text, and cohort schedule information translate correctly. Verify that time zone conversions display properly for students in different regions, and that live session reminders are sent in the correct language.
Ecommerce course sites with physical products: Test that product descriptions, shipping costs, checkout forms, and payment confirmation emails translate correctly. Verify that currency conversions display the correct symbols and values for each target market.
Membership sites: Test that membership tier descriptions, recurring billing notifications, and member-only content access links translate correctly. Verify that membership cancellation flows work in each language.

This staging workflow only works for Thinkific Plus subscribers. If you are on a lower Thinkific tier, you cannot create a native sandbox site.
Workarounds for non-Plus users include using a separate 14-day Thinkific trial site, or scheduling translation reviews during a maintenance window on your live site with a staging theme duplicate. These workarounds are less reliable, as trial sites do not clone your full site structure.
SeaText does not automatically sync translation variants between projects. You must manually replicate settings, or use SeaText's export/import feature if available on your plan tier. Forgetting to move a translation variant to your production project is a common cause of missing translations on live sites.
The 40-second activation visit must come from a real, standard browser. Automated crawlers, headless testing scripts, or incognito windows with strict third-party cookie blocking will not trigger the domain link.
If you delete and recreate your sandbox site, you will get a new sandbox URL. You must generate a new SeaText snippet for the new URL and repeat the activation step.
SeaText translates on-page content only. Thinkific system emails (receipts, enrollment confirmations, password reset emails) are managed in Thinkific's native notification settings and must be localized separately.
